Globin-like proteins in Caenorhabditis elegans: in vivo localization, ligand binding and structural properties

A detailed physiochemical analysis of two globin-like proteins in Caenorhabditis elegans, GLB-1 and GLB-26, together with the crystal structure of GLB-1*, reveals that these two proteins belong to functionally different globin classes.
