Southern blot hybridization for determination of LWS opsin copy-number in Poecilia reticulata. Four bands (labeled 1–4) correlate with four LWS loci from a single Cumaná guppy. BfaI (New England Biolabs^®) was the restriction enzyme used. A generic DIG-labeled probe was designed to target all LWS loci (see methods).
