BLAST performance for large databases gives the average times (n = 3) for a W.ND-BLAST project to complete when querying 50 sequences on Class E machines against a 1.5 GB nucleotide database (too large to fit in physical memory). The times, shown in minutes and seconds, show a relatively large decrease in execution time when the number of machines is increased from one to seven nodes. |
